POSITION SUMMARY
Assists in creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates, vendors and customers. Promotes the company core values of customer focus, integrity, teamwork and accountability. Seeks best practices and continuous improvement in all aspects of loss prevention and safety. Focuses on proactive and preventive activities that will enhance profitability. Reacts to and resolves issues and situations within scope of authority.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supports Store Management in all aspects of loss prevention and safety.
- Supports activity to protect Company assets, confidential information and reputation
- Deters theft and stock loss
- Participates in apprehension of those in violation of the law and assists in prosecution of external theft cases
- Identifies internal theft cases and researches as directed by the Asset Protection Specialist.
- Ensures Asset Protection tools and equipment are maintained and function properly
- Works with Asset Protection team and store management to ensure operational standards are maintained
- Works with Asset Protection team and store management to ensure compliance with stock loss programs and controls
- Works with Asset Protection team and store management to ensure safety standards and programs are implemented.
- Engages in extensive documentation and report writing
- Testifies in criminal court and/or civil court proceedings
- Participates in Union proceedings
SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1-2 years job related experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
- Good organizational, communication and people skills
- Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to work independently in a progressive workplace.
- Ability to work on sensitive assignments and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Regular travel required throughout the district, to periodic meetings and events outside the district
