We are currently looking for a General Liability Claims Attorney to join our team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops cost effective strategies to manage trial calendar, outside counsel and General Liability claims administration.
- Provides legal guidance and coaching to entire business team regarding investigation effectiveness and evidence gathering as well as provides updates in state and federal laws.
- Responsible for management of third party claims administrator with respect to processing, analysis and disposition of GL claims.
- Develops specific action plans designed to reduce liability.
- Provides direction geared toward improvement to operating practices and policies that will reduce exposure to General Liability claims.
- Builds strategies and provides direction based in lessons learned and best practice research.
SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE:
- Juris Doctorate.
- A minimum of 5-8 years experience in premises liability and personal injury practice, either from a firm that defends a multi-site retailer or a multi-site retail establishment.
- Demonstrated track record of success in all phases of defense of General Liability claims, including; litigation strategy, legal research, pre-trial discovery, judicial hearings and trials and post-trial activities.
- Experience in training and coaching business partners on the theory of liability.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Licensed in NY and NJ.
- Experience on the east coast.
- Familiarly with General Liability law in Md., De. And Pa.
- Experience with a General Liability Insurance carrier a plus.
