Billing and Collections Clerk

Department: Finance and Accounting
Office: Montvale
Location: Montvale, NJ

Position Summary:

Responsible for timely and accurate billing, collections, and cash application, and payables activities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections
  • Coordinate accounts receivable related to vendor allowances and all other receivable billings/application
  • Knowledge and compliance of accounts receivable accounting policies and procedures
  • Tracking and reporting of process / performance metrics and KPIs
  • Contact vendors via phone, email and formal letters to follow up on outstanding invoices / cash application detail
  • Resolve discrepancies with invoicing/application issues timely
  • Coordinate Accounts Payables related to vendor setup and payment management. Accurate reporting of Payables activity by week and period
  • Reconcile and create journal entries and resolve issues as necessary
  • Exposure to warehouse accounting procedures
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Special projects as necessary
  • Assist others in the department on an “as needed” basis

Special Skills, Training, or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Relevant experience in accounting department performing billing, collections, payables, journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Experience in managing and assisting teams (within department and cross-functionally)
  • Experience with process improvement and change management a plus
